Don Bird began his journey into the world of music at a very young age with his mother being a classical music genius teaching music ahead of her time in the 50’s and 60’s.
Don began to pick up any instrument he could get his tiny hands on from grand pianos to keyboards, guitar to bass, the organ and at one time…a trumpet!
Don has since been in 80’s rock bands like Shots and Ears, played multiple collaborative gigs in LA and the Bay Area releasing albums like Floating on Moonlight, and is still today composing and writing music from his private music studio in the San Juan Islands releasing collaborative singles like Lydia.
From playing collaboratively with local Anacortes bands like BluesFish and Savage Blues Band, to releasing his own project Children of The Blues in Seattle debuting Space Lounge and Ship of Fools,
Don has FINALLY released his biggest project yet The Don Bird Experiment in 2026 with the debut album Fog of Cool…
We are sure you can already tell that Don’s most recent projects have all developed from where his heart truly lies…jazz and the blues. His personal compositions range from jazz and prog rock to the blues while incorporating his classically trained background with immersive orchestral composing.
Don has essentially done it all. Over the years he’s professionally worked his way up from writing jingles for radio stations to becoming an executive consultant for some of the world’s leading audio and video technology companies.
When all is said and done. All of Don’s musical experiments have been inspired by the rhythm of life and the creative souls he meets along the way. He is glad he can now share his complete catalogue with you.
