An opening sonic landscape created by producer/engineer Chas Rowden's compilation of Bird's keyboards and synthesizers evokes the start of a long odyssey across the waters of the Salish Sea. Inspired by Don Bird's discovery of Jake Yansen while travelling through the San Juan Islands,the song originated from a studio freeform jam session with Jake and Don, with Andrew Cloutier later overdubbing drums to supplement the original loops used in the studio.
